USBK Kirkistown 2nd June.
Following what I can only describe as a disastrous weekend last week at Cadwell Park, it was good to be back on home turf and back on winning form.
Qualifying went well putting the R6 second on the grid with only a fraction of a second splitting me and RK.
Race one I dropped back to fourth off the line when Korie got the holeshot and took the lead followed by RK and Richard Kerr. A bit of late braking into the hairpin soon put paid to their aspirations and I moved into the lead. I managed to open a slight gap as RK and Korie battled it out behind me, but by the final lap they were back on my tail but I held my nerve and the lead to the flag.
Race two, again I got bogged down of the line and dropped back to fourth place, this time it was Richard Kerr who was leading the opening lap. I picked my way back over the next couple of laps taking the lead on lap three, the following lap a hard pushing RK slipped off at the chicane, the incident slowing Korie a fraction giving me a free run to take my second win of the day.
Great to be back on the top step of the podium and also to see the team boss with his happy face back on.
Big thank you as always to all my sponsors and everyone who helps make this possible.
